On November 13, 2009, FDA underscored that it may be improper to add caffeine to foods other than cola-type beverages. Herewith, a small but growing list of foods likely to have added caffeine, and unlikely to qualify as “cola-type beverages.” The list is shorter because we are trying to show only foods, widely available in the US, with directly added caffeine (as opposed to supplements, foods rarely available in the US, or foods deriving caffeine from chocolate, yerba mate, guarana, kola, tea, etc.). If you know of other foods that ought to be on this list, please let us know.
