Frank Y. Knizner is an Attorney at Lehrman Beverage Law, PLLC. Frank joined the law firm as a Law Clerk in 2014 and became an Attorney in 2015. Frank’s practice areas include federal alcohol beverage law, trademark law, and state and local alcohol beverage law.
As a federal alcohol beverage attorney, Frank advises clients on issues related to the production, importation, wholesaling, and marketing of spirits, beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages in the US. Frank helps clients obtain TTB federal basic permits and notices, as well as label and formula approvals. Frank also helps clients navigate and comply with complex federal alcohol laws and regulations.
As an alcohol beverage trademark attorney, Frank advises clients on all matters pertaining to spirits, beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverage trademarks. Frank performs trademark clearance searches, helps clients obtain federal trademark registrations at the USPTO, handles trademark appeals, oppositions, and cancellations at the TTAB, and help clients understand and enforce their trademark rights.
As a DMV-area based alcohol beverage attorney, Frank also advises clients on DC, Maryland, and Virginia alcohol beverage laws and regulations, and helps clients obtain licenses, permits, and similar authorizations in these jurisdictions.
Before working at Lehrman Beverage Law, Frank was a Law Clerk at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.
Frank earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 2015 and is admitted to the Bar of Maryland. Frank graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2012.
Outside of the office, Frank enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing guitar, being outdoors, and drinking craft beer and spirits.
