Ryan Malkin is an attorney focused on alcohol beverage and cannabis law. He is Of Counsel to our firm and we have been working with Ryan for many years. He adds extensive capabilities to our firm such as expertise in state alcohol beverage matters, DTC issues, cannabis law, and deep knowledge of the spirits industry gained through his work with ACSA, Pernod and a wide variety of other spirits enterprises. He has extensive experience providing guidance to suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, agencies, and third parties within these regulated industries. As an attorney for a major global wine and spirits supplier, Ryan concentrated on supporting the sales and marketing teams to ensure compliance with rules and regulations in all 50 states. Ryan utilized his experience and knowledge of the industry to help craft compliant programs to help global brands outperform others in their categories.
Prior to his work at Pernod, Ryan was an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan. Ryan investigated and prosecuted all manner of crimes, with an emphasis on long-term white collar crime investigations. Ryan gained unprecedented skills and an understanding of state governmental agencies. Ryan works with Ashley Hanke and several other lawyers at his firm in Florida.
Ryan grew up in Michigan and now lives in Florida. He graduated from the University of Michigan (BA) and from Brooklyn Law School (JD). He is admitted to practice law in Florida, New Jersey and New York.

Ashley Hanke, Attorney
Ryan works closely with Ashley Hanke. Ashley has significant experience in alcohol beverage and cannabis law. She holds a BA in Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a JD from Western New England University, School of Law.
She has had a long-standing interest in the alcohol and cannabis industries and her desire to pursue a career in the field was solidified after working at a vineyard in Tuscany. During this experience, she was involved in the wine-making process from beginning to end and developed an understanding of the intricacies of the industry starting from the acquisition of real estate to carrying out agricultural activities, as well as, vinification, labeling, sales, and exportation.
Ashley’s work includes DTC and distribution, compliance research, federal and state licensing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements, and other matters affecting the alcohol beverage industry.
